Representing children's book illustrators since 1990
Founder Paul Beebee left College at Redruth, Cornwall in 1986 with an HND in Technical Illustration. All fired up after gaining a place at Blue Chip Illustration in Malmesbury, Wiltshire he immediately became immersed in the hectic existance as in-house freelance general illustrator, part of the very busy team working for mostly advertising agencies and design companies in the area illustrating anything from power stations to jars of pills. After breaking away and moving to Cirencester in 1989 he started Beehive Illustration, an agency representing fellow colleagues and illustrator friends, from the garden shed.
Skip forward nearly 30 years, Beehive is now a team of 8 with over 150 top-class illustrators on the books based all over the world. They have been creating the artwork for thousands of children's books and are very proud of their hard-earned reputation delivering great service, gentle understanding, and an uncompromising objective to deliver exactly what their customers have come to expect: beautiful illustrations on time, all the time.
I started Beehive after a frantic few years as a freelance illustrator and have seen the Agency steadily grow and establish over the years. I couldn't be more proud of the team we have now and of course all the amazing illustrators we represent. The feedback from clients is testament to the hard work everyone continues to put in ensuring Beehive stays a-buzz and a pleasure to be part of. I'm always inspired by the beutiful artwork which passes across my screen and excited how much un-tapped talent we have at Beehive.
Why not see how we can help - we'd love to talk to you.
Before joining the team I gained a degree in Photography and Digital Imaging. Now as Project Manager I'm the first point of contact for all incoming and new enquiries. Whatever it may be, I try and find the best solution for everything coming into the Hive.
In 2003 I did my work experience at Beehive before gaining my illustration degree at Plymouth. My role now as Office Manager enables me to ensure everything runs smoothly and everyone has everything they need. If there is anything you need just let me know.
I joined Beehive in 2012 after graduating with a degree in English Literature - and a brief spell running away with the circus! Here at the Hive, it's my job to make sure live projects are running smoothly and deadlines are met. I love everything art related, and it's a real treat to get see all the fabulous work our illustrators are producing. I'm always inspired!
Outside of work, I love nature-spotting around the Cotswolds, travelling anywhere that has a mountain to climb up, and wreaking baking havoc in the kitchen.
I joined Beehive in 2014 first as an apprentice, and since then I've taken on lots of different roles in the office: organising illustrator contracts and artwork, updating our Instagram account, managing Honey Points, and making sure everything gets to the post office on time! I love my job and working as part of a close-knit team.
In my spare time, I enjoy taking holidays to sunnier climes and swimming - or even better, combining the two!
I'm Louise, and I look after all of Beehive's financial affairs. I'm in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays - please do let me know if I can help with any queries relating to finance.
Office & Marketing Assistant
Hi, I'm Katie! I've done a few stints at the Hive over the years, and I'm back now to focus on the marketing side of things. I completed a degree in Media & Cultural Studies, followed by a Masters in Design for Advertising, and I'm putting those skills to work to promote all of our fantastic artists.
